We booked our excursions to 'Gallipoli' and boat trips to the under water nature reserve through the hotel as the staff were very helpful and 'unbiased' as well as being 'good value for money' and no hard sell. We walked 200 yards up the road and hired scooters for a day from Centrauto Group Rent (recommended) and when we return (a definite) we will be hiring a car from them to further explore the area around 'Nardo' and 'Lecce'. The hotel was situated perfectly for evening strolls along the well maintained promenade to Santa Maria al Bagno or Santa Caterina to enjoy the local hospitality with a wide selection of bars and restaurants. The private beach club built on decks over the rocks was a beautiful setting to enjoy the crystal clear waters and cool down with regular swims and the roof top terrace and pool area was a great place to enjoy the amazing sunsets. The food and cleanliness were second to none and 'Mattia' behind the bar made some of the best cocktails I have ever had and I've had a few in my time. We had booked a 'Half board break' The breakfast had a wide ranging, self service, choice and the evening meals were 4 courses with free flowing wine and a different menu every night for a week. This was mirrored by all of the staff, from the house maids, the front of house reception staff, the amazing waiters and waitresses, the bar staff, to the maintenance dept, nothing was too much trouble and all the time the halls echoed with 'Buongiorno' during the day accompanied with a smile and a tip of the head. He immediately made you feel welcome and at 'Home'. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the manager 'Simone'. The pictures do not do this hotel justice as the pictures cannot portray 'Ambience' and this hotel has an abundance of it. I am not one to take time to write reviews, but after the experience we had at this hotel I just had to share with others.
